Tours of Pollepel Island from May 4, 2013 to October 27, 2013:

The Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc., in cooperation with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, provides public tours of Bannerman Castle and Pollepel Island.  Available tours consist of guided walking tours on the island with access either by passenger tour boat or as part of a guided kayak excursion.  Tours depart from Beacon (kayak or passenger boat), Cold Spring (kayak), Cornwall (kayak), and Newburgh (passenger boat), New York, as described below.  Reservations are required for all tours. Please wear comfortable shoes as there is some rough terrain on the walking tours.  Strollers can not be accommodated.  There is a 72-step climb from the dock to the start of the tour (there is a rest stop along the way).  Tours depart rain or shine.

Tour Boat Excursions: 

The Estuary Steward provides a 2 1/2 hour excursion, including a  walking tour of Pollepel Island. The cost of the tour is $35 per adult and $30 per each child (11 years old and younger).  The tours depart from the Newburgh Landing in Newburgh, NY each Saturday and Sunday at 11:00am and from the Beacon, NY ferry dock each Saturday and Sundayat 12:30pm.  To make a reservation call Zerve at: 1-800-979-3370.

Bannerman Island Third Sunday Self-Guided Tours Including Live Music:

Every third Sunday from May through October, enjoy the mystery of Bannerman Island on this special self-guided tour. Bannerman Castle Trust historians will be on hand to answer questions about the island.
