Daisy Werthan, an elderly Jewish widow living in Atlanta, is determined to maintain her independence. However, when she crashes her car, her son, Boolie, arranges for her to have a chauffeur, an African-American driver named Hoke Colburn. Daisy and Hoke’s relationship gets off to a rocky start, but they gradually form a close friendship over the years, one that transcends racial prejudices and social conventions.
Driving Miss Daisy will play on June, 28-30th, and July 5th-7th.
The Event includes a cruise to Bannerman Island on The Estuary Steward, departing from Beacon, NY at 6:00 p.m. pm and 7:00 p.m. for one performance at 8:00 p.m.
The first boat at 6:00pm includes a Bannerman Island Lecture before the show.
The second boat at 7:00pm includes a Bannerman Island lecture after the show.
Please Note
- There are 72 steps to get from the dock to the historic trail and event space on Bannerman Islands, we are not handicap accessible.
- Please check the weather and wear the appropriate clothing.
- No outside food or drinks are allowed on the island for Theatrical performances and movies.
- Alcohol and smoking (of any kind) are not permitted on Bannerman Island.
- Only service dogs that are defined by the ADA are allowed.
- Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled time. If you booked for 6pm be there at 5:30pm, and if you booked for 7pm, be there at 6:30pm.
