THE TRUST ADVERTISES FOR BIDS FOR THE RESIDENCE STABILIZATION PROJECT

Notice to Bidders TAKE NOTICE, that sealed bids will be received by the Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc. in care of the Beacon Institute, on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 1:00 PM prevailing time, when they will be publicly opened and read aloud for: THE STABILIZATION OF CRAG INCH LODGE AT BANNERMAN’S ISLAND 

The project consists of the installation of a new roof and interior floors in a 1,800-square foot masonry building located on a National Historic Register-listed property on an island in the Hudson River in Fishkill, NY.  The project also includes masonry repair of the existing walls and installation of shoring and bracing for emergency stabilization purposes.  The property is owned by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, but is managed by the Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc. through a Memorandum of Understanding. Project Manual and Contract Drawings are available for pick up at the Beacon Institute, 199 Main Street, Beacon, NY 12508, 845-838-1600 between the hours of 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday beginning on Monday, 21 June 2010.  The Beacon Institute is involved only as a business location to pick up the Project Manual and Contract Drawings.  All questions should be directed to Mr. Kurt Hirschberg, Project Manager, of Jan Hird Pokorny Associates, Inc. at (212) 759-6462, ext. 15. There will be a mandatory walk through of the site on Thursday 1 July 2010 at 10:00 AM.  Interested parties are required to meet at Newburgh Landing, Newburgh, NY no later than 10:00 AM for the boat ride to the island. A refundable deposit of $50.00 will be required for each copy of the bid documents.  Each proposal must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the Bidder’s name, address and the project name “The Stabilization of Crag Inch Lodge”. Funding for this project comes in part through an Environmental Protection Fund grant administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP). Under Article 15A, Executive Law, the State of New York is committed to providing Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) equal opportunity to participate in government contracts. The following goals have been set for this project: 8% of the contract value for MBE’s and 7% of the contract value for WBE’s. All bidders must submit with their bids an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policy statement and an MWBE Utilization Plan. The Bannerman Castle Trust, Inc. reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
